Hi, I'm Sarah and I was so pleased to see more than 70 people at the three discussion groups that Alice and I set up with help from ecocongregations and the Lauriston Jesuit community. Our six moderators adopted rather different approaches, and the whole experience was so interesting, it would be great to continue it! I look forward to reading your comments and blogs X

Can we encourage more Catholic churches to become eco-congregations? We would be happy to discuss what Eco-Congregation Scotland can do to help any church respond to Laudato Si.

Adrian, thanks for posting. As you know, Catholics are invited to Live Simply and there are various initiatives, including an environmental award for parishes, as explained below: http://www.cafod.org.uk/Campaign/Campaigning-guide/Become-a-livesimply-parish The great thing about ecocongregations is that it's ecumenical and local. That's a great combination!

Thanks for putting this together. I enjoyed the opportunity to chat and discuss - there's so much in the encyclical that was great to read and think about. As one friend said though the challenge is now 'what next'? It's great to talk about things - but how do we take the teachings and ideas in this further in our lives and communities? Challenging!

I was impressed by how many people turned up to discuss the encyclical on not one, or two, but three occasions, some coming a distance to do so. I was greeted in Melrose this Sunday with, "Hello again, I was at Lauriston for those talks. Weren't they good?!"

Dear Trevor, Thanks for the feedback - it was a great discussion because so many people came - people power! People want to know what they should do, and reading the encyclical gave them hope - the most precious of gifts - and courage. I was struck by the personal journeys that the speakers at the ecocongregations meeting in Edinburgh on 23 September told us about - we're all on a journey and don't know where it will end. Maybe in Mars? X

Laudato SiThis blog was set up following our group discussions about Laudato Si - Pope Francis' Encyclical on the Care of our Common Home, at the Church of the Sacred Heart, Lauriston, in September 2015. This is intended to be a place where you can find a few follow-up resources, reflect on the content of the discussions and the Encyclical, and engage in discussion with themes that interest you.
